All for the Kids at Manila Children’s Festival 2015

This holiday season, fun and learning
are in store for kids and kids-at-heart at the Manila Children’s Festival,
slated December 11-13 at the Megatrade Hall 3, 5th Level, Mega B, SM
Megamall EDSA, Mandaluyong City. The festival is an event that caters to
parents and children through its co-located events, The Manila Children’s Book
Fair and Superkids 2015.
The Manila Children’s Book Fair
gathers foreign publishers of children’s literature and reading materials using
both print and electronic media, while Superkids 2015 will be the platform for
families to explore educational, engaging and family-bonding activities for
children with their parents.
The MCF is set to help children
learn new skills through enjoyable workshops and activities, as well as educate
parents, educators, and other professionals working with children on how to
unleash their full potential.
On Friday, December 11, the Minions
will entertain the kids with a film showing of “Minions” at 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
Children can also meet and greet the yellow stars of the film at 1:00 PM courtesy
of Magnavision. Kids can get creative while filling their bellies with a Design
Your Own Christmas Cookie workshop with Chef Ria Aplasca of the Center for
Asian Culinary Studies at 12:00 NN. Slated at 5:00 PM, the “Parachutes: Santa’s
Delivery Workshop” is a fun way to introduce engineering to kids.
Meanwhile, to help parents get to know
the digital generation, award-winning author Dr. Queena Lee-Chua will hold a
session entitled “Growing Up Wired” at 1:30 pm. The session will explore proper
guidance, care and caution that parents can give their children, who have never
known a world without the Internet and 24/7connectivity.
On December 12, the Minions are
again set to entertain kids with a film showing at 10:00 AM while The Learning
Library holds a storytelling session at 10:30 AM. Little fashionistas will
enjoy the Christmas Masquerade kiddie fashion show by Tiddletots at 11:00 AM. Kids
can also prove their talent in singing with the MCF Kiddie Karaoke Competition
at 1:00 PM. At 5:30, children can also get their hands busy with an engineering
activity called Poppers: Let It Snow while little foodies can try their hand at
Cupcake Decorating with Nicole Alysson Uy at 7:00 PM.
On December 13, National Bookstore
