I remember my mom told me to buy plain white or light colored baby clothes instead when I was about to buy printed and dark colored ones for my eldest before giving birth. She told me to do so because of the following reasons:
1. Insects and dirt can be easily seen and removed in white and light colored clothes. It is hard to figure out when insects or dirt are present in dark colored or printed clothes. Babies can't speak when insects crawl on them.
2. White and light colored clothes reflect light better, therefore heat from the sun can't be absorbed that much. That means babies feel cooler.
These simple reasons also apply when you choose items for babies from linens to cribs. Aside from safety, functionality, and comfort, considering the color of babies' clothes is very, very important.
